Alþjóðlega dúkkusafnið á Flateyri stækkar sífellt og í vikunni kom forsprakki þess færandi hendi að nýju. Hún er kölluð dúkkumóðirin þar sem hún kennir konum um allan heim að búa til og selja dúkkur til bæta lífsskilyrði sín.
Senta Siller færði Flateyringum dúkkusafn sitt fyrir fimmtán árum: "Það var stór snjóflóð sem við lásum um í blöðunum. Ég sagði við manninn minn að ég ætti sex ferðatöskur af dúkkum sem ég gerði ekkert með. Við ættum að að fara til Flateyrar og spyrja hvort þau vilji nýtt safn."

Á Flateyri eru nú stödd hjónin Prof. Norvert Pintsch og Dr. Senta Siller en þau gáfu á sínum tíma dúkkusafnið til samfélagsins á Flateyri. Safnið hefur verið til húsa í Félagsbæ og innheldur fjöldann allan af dúkkum í þjóðbúningum. Þau hjónin hafa rekið fjölmörg þróunarverkefni víða um heim m.a. í Pakistan, Kolumbíu og Kamerun og er kjarni þeirra vinnu að efla konur. Rauði þráðurinn í þeirri vinnu hefur verið framleiðsla á sérhönnuðum brúðum í þjóðabúningum viðkomandi landa, en þróunin hefur haldið áfram á hverjum stað fyrir sig og í dag eru til vörulínur af allskonar söluvarningi frá hverju landi.
Á Flateyri var á sínum tíma haldin þjóðahátíð og var Norbert og Senta boðið og mættu þau með sölubás sem sýndu afrakstur vinnu þeirra í hinum ýmsum löndum. Flateyri var í sárum eftir snjóflóðið á þessum tíma og datt þeim í hug að færa þorpinu alþjóðlegt brúðusafn, sem var í þeirra eigu. Brúðusafnið var afhent handverkshópnum Purku sem var á þeim tíma stjórnað af Sigríði Magnúsdóttir í Valþjófsdal, Þorbjörgu og fleiri konum. Jóhanna Kristjánsdóttir tók verkefnið líka í fóstur og var mikil virkni í kringum safnið í nokkur ár. Brúðusafninu hefur í gegnum tíðina borist fleiri gjafir, til að mynda færði ísfirski píanóleikarinn Anna Áslaug Ragnarsdóttir safninu 25 brúður að gjöf.
Hjónin Norbert og Senta komu hér í eina tíð árlega til Flateyrar, námskeið voru haldin í allskonar handverki og eitt árið kom með þeim kona úr litlu þorpi í Pakistan og héldu þau öflugt brúðugerðarnámskeið sem heppnaðist með einsdæmum vel.
Núna hafa þau sett upp aukasýningu með brúðum og fleiru frá Guatemala og er þessi sýning viðbót við sýninguna sem fyrir er.
Fyrirhugað er að bjóða til veislu ámorgun, sumardaginn fyrsta í tilefni 15 ára afmælis brúðusafnsins og til að vekja athygli á sýningunni og starfseminni almennt. Peter Weiss, forstöðumaður Háskólaseturs Vestfjarða mun ávarpa gesti og eru allir velkomnir. Samkoman er haldin í Félagsbæ á Flateyri og hefst klukkan 18:00.

At the invitation of the Museum Fund of the IDM, two volunteer helpers are preparing for a workshop in Flateyri.
Dr Senta Siller (DGFK e.V.) had 15 years ago through her doll collection laid the foundation stone for the IDM, - along with Sabine Piltz (Cultura e. V) handicraft techniques were imparted to the local women in two workshops.
The 15th anniversary will be an occasion for a special exhibition: 50 traditionally dressed dolls from the Bach collection that were acquired for the IDM.

Through the DGFK and the IPC PDP carried out preparatory talks for initiating a Think Tank Project in order to collect independent opinions on political, economic and non-religious topics. In this regard, among others Dr. Thomas / formerly Duttweiler Institute, Dr.Nadine /Avenir Suisse, Mr Felix / Club of Amsterdam and Mr James / ccc were to be included in the project. A meeting in ISF / University Centre Westfjords in April is being planned in this context.
